.:Lacrosse How-to - Preventing Scoop Scratches:.
|
|
Scoop scratches both reduce the value of a stick if you try to resell it and also are just annoying.
This article focuses on how to stop these scratches that are obtained by scooping on a hard surface
like concrete.
Materials
You will need some kind of tape. I recommend electrical tape (the black stuff) because it is
slippery and slides easily but duct tape is also acceptable.
Procedure
Run one piece of electrical tape along the backside of the scoop (the part that touches the ground).
Run it along the whole length of the scoop, and run another few pieces until you are satisfied that it
wont scratch. DO NOT wrap the tape around the scoop. No tape should be visible from the front,
as this might alter the way you throw and is not necessary to minimize scratching.
Take the tape off for games (obviuosly). Doing this will stop those scratches on your scoop,
making it look better and more well maintained.
