.:Lacrosse Quick Tips - Article 1:.

Note: These are some fairly basic tips that more advanced players probably already know.
If you are an advanced player, this article might not be much help to you.
Tip 1: Strengthening Your Wrists
To strengthen their wrists, some people fill their shafts with sand.
I even knew a person who filled their shaft with concrete.
The truth is, they're going about it all wrong.
To build up strength in your wrists, cut open a tennis ball and fill it with pennies.
Make the cut big enough only so that you can fit the pennies in, no bigger.
If cut right, the hole will stay closed and the pennies will stay in.
If you make the cut too big, you could tape or glue the ball back together.
Tip 2: Dying Your Stick
When dying a stick, the old fashioned way of doing things is to put the dye in the sink.
The new way is to buy a disposable turkey pan big enough to fit your stick and use that.
You can even clean it out and reuse it.
Tip 3: Molding A Pocket
Ever work hard on stringing a pocket and then throw around with it,
only to find the next morning that the pocket looks nothing like it did the night before?
To form a pocket, place a ball where you would like the deepest part of the pocket,
and then run a butter knife over the ball and under the sidewall of the stick.
This should hold tension on the ball, and virtually overnight you will have a well formed pocket.
