.:Tips for Attackmen:.

Attack. Their job is to take the ball and put it in a 6 foot by 6 foot area while being swung at by 6 people who don't want you to put the ball in the net. You have to be able to take a hit. You have to be able to shoot. And, you also need those all important throwing and catching skills.

Shooting

This is your job. Score. To score, you must shoot. Practice shooting accuracy(more important) and then shot power (not so important). try to get a net, but if you can't tape a 6x6 net on a wall. Also, theres a really good article at Northwest Lacrosse on how to make a cost effective goal. Some companies make little pockets you put in the corners of nets, others make rebounders that only let the ball through the hard to hit parts of the net. Those work, but are expensive.

Stick Skills

You need these, too. If you are a good attackmen, you pass the ball around alot between your fellow attackmen. You look pretty dumb if you drop a pass and create a turnover, so learn to throw and catch rightie and leftie well to avoid embarrasement.

Dodging

If you don't want the 6'4" 250 lb. defenseman crushing you, learn how to dodge and get away from him. Keep your stick protected, and if they throw a bad check roll off and take it to the net. Maybe practice with someone else and get them to throw soft checks at youand practice this way.
